With sadness, we share the passing of Susan Marie Nelson of Fairfield, Iowa. Susan, born on May 26, 1941, passed away on July 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John F, Jr. and Ethel Murphy (Little); her aunt Ruth; and her uncle Floyd Nedderman. She is survived by: her husband Marvin L. "Pete" Nelson; her children, Tami Plein (Tom) of Burlington, Janice Kaufman (Craig) of Lockridge and Mike Nelson (Jodi) of Pella; her grandchildren, Adam Plein (Kahri), Whitney McWilliams (Blake), Brice Plein (Kayla), C. J. Kaufman (Kaitlin Melcher), Mitchell Nelson, Mallory Nelson and Westin Nelson; her great grandchildren, Aila, Kaya, Baker, Beckett and Brooks; her siblings, Pat Rud (Karl) and Jim Murphy III; her in-laws, Larry Newlon, Wilma, Ernie McCreedy and Ronne Holt; and her close friend Karla Ferrel.
