It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Mae Young of Fairfield, Iowa, born in Unionville, Iowa, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Price and Lucile Price (Stuckey); her husband Philip Young; her son-in-law David Mitcheltree; and her siblings, Harold, Hebert, Harry, Agnes Ford, Annabelle Cochran and Virgene Johnson.

She is survived by : her daughters, Linda Mitcheltree of Keosauqua, Joni Pfeifer (Steven) of Clearwater, FL and Phyllis Tjepkes (Raymond) of Lynwood, WA; her grandchildren, Jessica Reed (Cameron) of Washington, IA, Schuyler Tjepkes (Arianna Weber), Hannah Tjepkes (Brittany) of Lynwood, WA and Philip Mitten of Everett, WA; and her great grandchild Stella Reed.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, with contribution checks made out to the church, or the Vera Young Science Scholarship.
