She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd McGehee and Elvena McGehee (Jensen); and her son Rick. She is survived by: her daughter Diane (Wayne Schroeder); her grandson John Schroeder (Ryan); her great grandchild Emily; her grandson Nate Schroeder (Julie); her great grandchild Eric; her sister Pat Hunter; and her daughter Shirley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
After five weeks of hospital and rehabilitation care from COVID in 2020, Shirley and Dick eventually moved to an Omaha retirement community, where they made new friendships and renewed old ones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arbor Day Foundation, the Nebraska Humane Society, or for Parkinson's research.
