With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Joy Gilbertson of Forest City, Iowa, who passed away on March 19, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Heitland and Marion Heitland (Smith); her husband Al Gilbertson; and her parents-in-law, Leonard, Olive Gilbertson, Jim Heitland (Marilyn) and Dave Heitland (Mae).
She is survived by: her children, Mark (Rita) of Ames, IA, Denny (Beth) of Fort Myers, FL and Mary Meyer (Scott) of Dougherty, IA; her grandchildren, Robby Gilbertson (Heather) of Seattle, WA, Reid, Holly, Bailey Gilbertson of Des Moines, Justin Meyer (Lena Boehmer) of Rockwell, Morgan Meyer of Crystal, MN and Ali Covarrubias (Jake) of Ankeny; her great grandchildren, Griffey Covarrubias and Beau Bush; her parents-in-law, Shirley Higbee of Lake Mills, Butch Heitland (Gescha) of Lake Mills and James Gilbertson (Karen) of Prairie Village, KS; and her close friends, Joyce Goranson and Mavis Hess. She is also survived by nephews and nieces, and extended family and friends.
