We announce the death of Dorothy Darlene Olson of Forest City, Iowa, who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 95. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Cox and Mabel Cox (Olson); her husband Cecil Olson; her parents-in-law, Bennie and Pearl Olson; and her siblings, Virgil, Kenneth, Wallace, Clifford and Vivian.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Olson (Kathy), Wendy Feazell (George), Carmen Riley (Dan) and Carol Willey; her grandchildren, Marisa Milks (Rick), Patrick Maas (Suzanne), Jorand Feazell, Shelly Feazell, Brent Willey (Kassie), Tani Willey and Ryan Willey (Emily); her sister Georgia Anderson (Wayne); and her sisters-in-law, Elaine Cox and Kathy Olson. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (246 S Clark St, Forest City, IA 50436). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dorothy's honor to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City or to the Forest City Fire Department.
