He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Reed and Robert H. Reed of Fort Dodge; his wife Ruth Reed; his granddaughter Emily Porche; and his siblings, Carl Reed, Roland Reed, Wendell Reed and Betty Manguson (Reed).
He is survived by: his children, Jim Reed Jr. (Kari Prescott) and Sarah Porche (Reed); his grandson Jordan Martin; and his brother Pat Reed (Judy).
