He is survived by: his children, Larry Garretson of Fort Dodge, John Garretson (Melissa Joyce) of Gowrie and Amy Moleseed (John) of Rochester, MN; his grandchildren, John Garretson, Jr., Kirstyn Garretson, Justyn Morgan, Aylexis Morgan and Makayla Busma; his great grandchild Kinsley Eve; and his wife Anna Heise.
