She was predeceased by : her parents, Myron Koppen and Ruth Koppen (King). She is survived by : her daughters, Cheryl Smith (Dana) of Omaha and Susan Messerly of Fort Dodge; her grandchildren, Austin Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Tyler Messerly and Jeremiah Messerly; her great grandchildren, Carter Hoover and Ava Messerly; her brother Paul Koppen (Becky); her siblings-in-law, Trudy Koppen, Pat Grove, Mary Williams, Margaret Potts and James Gailey; and her stepchildren, Mary Beth Spielberg (Horst), John Jr. Gailey (Julie), Patricia Jarnagin (Kris), Denis Gailey, Tim Gailey (Susan) and Renae Gailey.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home (307 S 12th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
