He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest T. Pederson and Ruth M. Pederson (Gullixson); and his siblings, Audrey (Harlan), Ruth E. Bakken, Karen (Jim Moen), Douglas (Jean), Johnny and Pete.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Pederson of Fort Dodge; his children, Tiffany Carlson (Rick) of Fort Dodge and Rich II Pederson (Tina) of Des Moines, IA; his granddaughters, Meghan Donnelly (Poly Metobo) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Haley Hundley (Chris) of Grimes, IA and Hannah Pederson of Johnston, IA; his great grandchildren, Charlotte Hundley, Kinsley Reynolds and Amani Metobo; his stepgrandsons, Chad Carlson (Laura) of McGregor, IA, Nick Carlson (Dani) of Manson, IA and Ryan Carlson of Callender, IA; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Rial, Archie, Gus, Cayl, Cade and Lainey; his sister Rosalind Collins (Dan) of Long Grove, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Bakken of Council Bluffs, IA and Jeanne Reynolds of Urbandale, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
