She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Opheim and Selma Opheim (Bakken); her husband Duane Michael Engels of Vincent, IA.; her children, Rosalie Lammli and David; her siblings, Barnett, Merle Opheim, Arlene Olson, Verna Kroph, Inez Loss and Phyliss Weiss; and her children-in-law, Dennis Royster and Betty Engels.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Royster of Bettendorf, IA, Cathy Sonnicksen (Ralph) of Fort Dodge, IA and James Engels of Yuma, AZ; her sons-in-law, Mark Lammli of Stanton, NE, Steven Engels of Waiholoa, HI, Daniel Engels (Patty) of Boerne, TX and Ron Engels of Potimao, Portugal; her grandchildren, Kristine, Kent, John, Mark, Robert, Scott, Maria, Michael, Jason and Allan; and her brother-in-law Paul Engels. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren,; 2 great, great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
