He is survived by: his children, Susy Southwick (Ron) of North Liberty, Siiri Sloat of Burlington, Nyssa Kelly (Jerry) of Byron, NY, Eric Sloat (Sharon) of Carthage and Darien Sloat (Roberta) of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Samantha Cuellar (Ivan), Madeline Thomas (Brendan), Darien Robbins (Celine), Claudia Sloat Walker (Ryan), Maggie Southwick Young (Jordan), Nicholas Kelly, John Briggs, Jr. and Sherry McKinley; and his great grandchildren, Minerva Thomas, Eric Cuellar, Chancellor Briggs, Bethany Briggs, Cooper Briggs, Delaney Rigney and Bradey McKinley.
