He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Charles "Tubby" and Dorothy Dodson (Logan); his wife Pal; and his son Dennis Dodson. He is survived by: his children, Sonya Sue Hutson (Shawn) of Wever, Iowa and Phillip Wayne Dodson (Carol Long) of Fort Madison, Iowa; his stepson Monty Lee Habben (Vickie) of Centerville, Iowa; and his siblings, Donald Dodson of Keokuk, Iowa and Alberta Fullhart of Fort Madison, Iowa. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Barr Memorial Chapel (1919 Ave F, Fort Madison, IA 52627). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Oakland Cemetery (4025 Avenue O, Fort Madison, IA 52627).
A memorial has been established for Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Hospital, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
