She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Salazar and Hesiquia Mendez Salazar; her spouse Desidero "Lelo" Prado; her children, Arthur Prado and Genevieve Thompson; and her grandson Keith Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Juanita Kirby of Burlington and Angelita Prado of Ft. Madison; her grandchildren, John, Jessica, Aaron, Nicolas and Jenna; and her siblings, Angel Juarez of Chicago and Brijido "Pip" Salazar of Highland, Indiana. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
