She was predeceased by: her parents, George Groene and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Groene (Umthum); her husband Melvin E. Soppe; and her siblings, Wilfred, Elmer Groene, Lorraine Overton-Scott and Adelaide Steffensmeier. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the West Point Care Center.
