She is survived by: her husband Skip Young of Fort Madison; her children, Lauren Rodeffer (Bryan), Natalie Steffensmeier (Kyle), William Young (Paige VanFleet) and Katherine Young (Jordyn Gerdes); her mother Charlene Dearing (Hoover) of Overland Park, Kansas; her sister Mimi Dearing; her son Joe Dearing of Overland Park, Kansas; and her grandchildren, Raleigh Rodeffer, Michael, Grayson Steffensmeier, Hudsyn and Brody Young. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.

A memorial has been established for the Fort Madison United Methodist Church.
