It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Groene (Fort Madison, Iowa), who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita Groene to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Brandt and Clara Brandt (Pollmiller); her husband Robert Groene; her son Jim; and her granddaughter Cara.
She is survived by: her children, Jon Groene (Renee) of Clive, IA, Stacy Groene (Anita) of Pickerington, OH, Lynn Reeves (Brenton) of St. Augustine, FL, Peggy Carpenter (Jeff) and Gay DeGrange (Dave) of Donnellson; and her daughter-in-law Jane Groene of Greenlawn, NY. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Holy Trinity Catholic School System and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
