He was predeceased by: his parents, E. R. "Tex" Hay and Shirley Goss Hay; his daughter Megan; and his siblings, Terry and Doug Hay.
He is survived by: his wife Lori Hay of Ft. Madison; his daughters, Amanda Hay of Philadelphia, PA, Julie (Jake Henriksson) of Denver, CO and Sara Peer (Wes) of Ft. Madison; his grandson Henry Peer; and his siblings, Cindy Boon (Daniel) of Ft. Madison, Stefanie Williams of Iowa City, Steve Hay (Debbie) of Ft. Madison, George and Tim Peters. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
