Wandalea Ammer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wandalea Ammer of Fort Madison, Iowa, who passed away on August 26, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Andrews and Beulah Andrews (Gillenwater); and her husband Melvin E. Ammer. She is survived by: her children, John Ammer (Theresa) of New Haven, Indiana, Dan Ammer, Suzette Hart (Randy) of Johnston, Iowa and Sandra Fonkert (Todd) of Waverly, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Eric Fonkert, Ryan Fonkert, Laura Schwab (Fonkert), Chris Hart, Cameron Hart, Michael Ammer, Kristen Bradtmueller (Ammer), Nicholas Ammer, Austin Ammer, Tanner Ammer and Keaton Ammer. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Barr Memorial Chapel (1919 Ave F, Fort Madison, IA 52627). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established for the First Christian Church, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
