He is survived by: his children, Tammy Schmidt (Russell) of Garner, Charles Schmidt (Brenda) of Garner, Sherri Kraus (Brian) of Le Mars, Brenda Davison (Wendell) of Garner, Timothy Schmidt (Laura) of Garner and Elisabeth Hawe (Travis) of Garner; his grandchildren, Adam Schmidt (Sherri), Sarah Dodge (Lee), Brandon Schmidt (Katie), Kacie Allen (Brandon), Jamie Thompson (Jase), Cody Schmidt (Megan), Jena Kraus, Jesse Kraus (Michelle), Breanne Kraus (Jared Cottrell), Andrew Davison (Lauren), Collin Davison (Kristin), Ryan Davison (Kristen), McKinley Hawe (Erin McElligott), Dalton Hawe (Nora), Aiden Hawe, Zane Hawe, Jeremy Maben and Jenna DeFazio (James); his great grandchildren, Mitchell, Madison Bower, Peyton Schmidt, Aaliyah, Parker Dodge, Brantley, Wyatt Schmidt, Aubrey, Kaydon Allen, Rhian, Jett Thompson, Maisa, Kiylee, Cain Schmidt, Preston, Kennedy, Kaleb Davison, Drake, Caden Davison, Kenzie, Carson Davison, Avila Hawe, Caleb, Elijah and Evelyn DeFazio; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Schmidt and Donald Peck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church (660 Bush Ave, Garner, IA 50438). Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St Boniface Catholic Church (660 Bush Ave, Garner, IA 50438). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
