She is survived by: her children, Cindy Hempe of Burnsville, Melanie Hempe of Ely Iowa, Greg Hempe of Belmond Iowa, Ranae Kelly (Tim) of Plover and Jay Hempe (Michelle) of Maple Grove, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Alex Hempe, Justin Knowles (Heather), Nathan Knowles, Emma Harrington, Olivia Harrington, Regan Kelly, Jack Kelly, Lizzie Kelly (Jacob), Grace Kelly, Hannah Hempe, Matt Hempe, Ella Rickard and Gavin Rickard; her great grandchildren, Max Edge, Grace, Amelia and Jackson Knowles; her siblings, Shirley Carson, Vicki Bueker (Tom), Don Kopacek (Kay), Roger Kopacek (Mary), Vinnie (Brenda), Carl Kopacek (Carol) and Ted Kopacek (Cindy); and her sister-in-law Mary Ann May. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Ewing Funeral Home (178 Center St W, Britt, IA 50423). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (139 3rd St SE, Britt, IA 50423).
