He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Christians and Evelyn Christians (Havlik); and his parents-in-law, Allen and Arlene Peterson. He is survived by : his wife Barbara of Garner; his sons, David Christians (Kristie) of Garner and Kevin Christians (Stacy) of Coralville; his grandchildren, Aaron Christians (Beth), Alicia Tannahill (Zack), Gray, Dane and Maeve Christians; his great grandchildren, Emersyn, Brooks and Hudson; and his brother-in-law Kenny Peterson (Marcia Monson) of Clear Lake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed in his name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garner or St. Croix Hospice.
