It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marvin H. Engstler of Garner, Iowa, who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey Engstler and Anna Engstler (Dankbar); his parents-in-law, Robert and Zelma Johnson; his brother Lawrence Engstler; and his brothers-in-law, Duane Severson, Paul Johnson and Joseph Johnson.
He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth Johnson of Garner; his daughters, Theresa Ames (Rod) of Mason City, Mary Hanna (David) of Forest City and Barb Freese (Randy) of Baxter; his grandchildren, Alyssa Ames, Pierce Ames (Brittny), Chris Hanna (Holly), Shauna Hanna-Nollin (Josh), Michael Freese (Nicole) and Courtney Rosenberger (Andy); his sisters, Helen Severson of Garner and Joanne Nedved of Kansas City; and his sisters-in-law, Carole Engstler of Garner and Ellen Johnson of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Community Schools, or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
