She was predeceased by: her parents, Enno Stubbe and Ella Stubbe (Jansen); her husband Ronald Smith; her son-in-law Robert "Bob" Newton, Jr.; her brothers, Harlyn Stubbe (Marlene) and Roger Stubbe; her in-laws, Roger Smith (Marilyn), Muriel Grooters (Kenneth), Norman Smith (Janice), Jerry Smith, Eleanor Smith and Charles Smith; her niece Laura Stubbe; and her nephews, Michael Smith and Curtis Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Rowden (Wesley) of Sioux City, IA, Ruth Smith of George, IA and Randy Smith (Lenda) of Monkey Island, OK; her granddaughter Kathryn Rowden; her great grandchild Elizabeth Rowden-Harstad of Sioux City, IA; her sister Elvie Smith of George, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Marlene Stubbe of George, IA, Joyce Hartley (Stephen) of Little Canada, MN, Audrey Grooters (Norman) of Vancouver, WA and Carol Schrick (Judson) of Decorah, IA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George (300 E Dakota Ave, George, IA 51237). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (300 E Iowa Ave, George, IA 51237).
