He is survived by: his children, Laverle Stratman (Jodi), Jacob Stratman and Mary Hawthorne (Kodi); his grandchildren, Retta, Walker and Maverick; his children, Emma (Jack Blair), Gretchen Stratman, Tyler Rearick (Clema), Wyatt Rearick and Karen Hielkema (Gary); his grandchild Garrison Hielkema (Brooke); his great grandchildren, Elijah, Kylee, Skylar, Levi and Jaelynn; his grandchild Karissa Lorenzen (John); his great grandchildren, Tillie, Rose, Eliza and Mae; his grandchild Kalsey Hielkema (Sean Kenn); his daughter Kristin DeBoer (Jason); his grandchild Brookstin Halma (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Owen, Rylee and Cooper; his grandson Jack DeBoer (Whitney); his great grandchild Kace; his siblings-in-law, Leora Reemtsma, Linda Molendorp (Lynn), Wanda Stratman and Lynn Reemtsma (Jane); his parents-in-law, Theodore and Louise Reemtsma; and his in-laws, Kenneth, Eleanor DeBoer, Vernon and Lavonne Reemtsma.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the First Baptist Church (4102 190th St, George, IA 51237). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
