He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold William Reuter and Jeanne Helene Reuter (Steimel); his brother Paul Reuter; his brother-in-law Jerald Brettmann; and his niece Cheryl Reuter.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Reuter of Gilbertville; his children, Jason Reuter (Jennifer) of Jesup, Kelly Rosonke (Todd) of Jesup and Jackie White (Brian) of Independence, IA; his grandchildren, John (Breanne), Luke, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Kayla and Brielle; and his siblings, Janice Brettmann of Denver, IA and Ronald Reuter (Carol) of Waverly, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Bosco System in Gilbertville and to other charities.
