He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard William Welch and Clara Isa Welch (Reece); and his brother Ted Welch. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Welch of Gilbertville; his children, Brian Welch (Amy) of Rochester, MN, Anthony Welch (Nikki) of Waverly, IA, Diane Welch, Julie McIntire (Steve) of St. Louis, MO and Angela Westlund (Anthony) of Delano, MN; and his sister-in-law Debra Welch. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; one great grandson.

Memorials will be directed to Immaculate Conception Church, the Bosco System and Nugent- Demuth American Legion Post 714 all in Gilbertville.
