She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Smaha and Betty Smaha (Gaunt); her husband Darrel Groth; her nephew Richard Smaha; and her sister-in-law Lois Groth.
She is survived by: her children, Sherri Denbow (Dave) of Gladbrook and Duane Groth (Kari) of Traer; her grandchildren, Ashley Steven (Denbow) of Toledo, IA, Jared Denbow of Gladbrook, Heidi Williams (Sean) of Marshalltown and Blaine Groth (Delaney) of Rhodes, IA; her great grandchildren, Bentley, Carter, Jackson Steven, Tate, Rhett, Cruz and Mila Williams; and her siblings, Bill Smaha (Donna) of Altoona, IA and Cathy Smaha of Centennial, CO..
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peace United Church of Christ (201 Johnston St, Gladbrook, IA 50635). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Peace United Church of Christ or the Gladbrook Community Foundation in her honor.
