He is survived by: his wife Lois Whitacre of Glenwood; and his sons, Charles Derek Whitacre (Mariella Piluso) of Los Angeles, CA and Dain Whitacre (Taylor) of Bennington, NE. He is also survived by other relatives and many special friends.

“Ken was one of a kind. A unique talent and all-around good guy. I had the privilege of knowing him through the Mills Masquers Theatre and had the chance to perform with him many times over the years. No matter what the show was, Ken always made it better. He was extremely proud of both of his sons and we spoke of them both often. He was a dedicated husband to Lois, and I always looked for her in the audience when we performed. My love and prayers to all of you at this time.”
