Leo leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Leo’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Leo will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Marvin and Birdie Lucille McLain (Slauter); his wife Patricia Kelly; and his sister Loretta Francois (Dick) of Afton. He is survived by: his children, David McLain (Eufrosina) of Manlius, Julie Van Meeteren (Bruce) of Glenwood and Matthew McLain (Sandra) of Bellevue, Nebraska; and his nieces, Verna Herzog of Bethany and Jo York (Russ) of Spokane Valley. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Peterson Mortuary, Inc. (212 S Locust St, Glenwood, IA 51534). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
