He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Elwin and Marguerette Grace Ayers (Peardon); his siblings, Denny Ayers (Helen) of Bayard, IA, Barb Kalsen (Dave) of Cambridge, IA and Linda Allen (Steve) of BeeBe Town, AR; his wife Mary Harriette Ayers; his daughters, Sherry Ann Booth (Tom) and Joyce Diane Perkins; and his daughters-in-law, Roxie Ann Ayers and Julie Ayers.

He is survived by : his children, Pam Vanscoy-Ayers of Adel, IA and Mike Ayers of Harrison, AR; and his son-in-law Jerry Perkins of Perry, IA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home (307 N Idaho St, Glidden, IA 51443).
