She was predeceased by: her parents, Gunner Morriss (Bun) and Cuba Morriss (Coger); her husband LeRoy Bennett; and her son Jerald. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Lea Bonnichsen of Gray and Steven Bennett (Leslie) of Windsor Heights; her grandchildren, Adonna Newman, Michael, Nathan, Bobbi Jo, Anthony (Karen) and Blair Spotts (Ryan); her great grandchildren, Anna and Noah; her grandchild Brooke Richardson (Trevor); her great grandchildren, River June and Everett; and her brother Gene Morriss of Humeston. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Even after retirement, she continued supporting the elderly well into her 80s through her volunteer work with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for over 23 years and the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) for a decade.
