With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilma Proctor of Gowrie, Iowa, who passed away on May 5, 2025 at the age of 83. Though Wilma may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Wilma touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gregerson and Norma Gregerson (Goings); and her grandchildren, Josh Smits, Joseph Murphy and Alissa Ferry.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melissa Smits of Fort Dodge, Patti Alford of Fort Dodge, Alison Pingel of Stanhope and Suzette Dwight (Ben) of Fort Dodge; her siblings, Paul Gregerson of Knierim and Lynda Roe (David) of Fort Dodge; and her former husband Norman Pingel. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Palmer & Sons Funeral Home (1016 Church St, Gowrie, IA 50543). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
