It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jacobsen (Graettinger, Iowa), born in Pocahontas, Iowa, who passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Whistler and Violet Whistler (Whisler); her husband Lowell; her siblings, Frederick, Warren and Donna Mendoza; and her siblings-in-law, KarenWhistler, Herbert Jacobsen (Violet), Delbert Jacobsen (Chloe) and Patricia Jacobsen.
She is survived by: her children, Lowell (Charlotte) of Fairway, Susan of Graettinger, Sandra Burgers (Alan) of Worcester, Kate Honda (Masanori) of Northborough and Alexandra Burgers of Kansas City; her great grandchildren, Naomi and Kimiko Honda; and her siblings, Donald Whistler and Linda Shekey.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Palo Alto Hospital Auxiliary, Hospice of Palo Alto County, Graettinger Methodist Church, or Graettinger Senior Center.
