He is survived by : his wife Norma; his children, Jodie Bredahl (Mike) and Jerry (Kellie Mortensen); his grandchildren, Cody Jackson, Hunter Callahan (Cara), Dakota Scism (Caleb) and Brody Jackson; his great grandchildren, Emmet and Teagan Scism; his sisters, Loretta Harry (Bob) and Jackie Jones; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Christenson (Ron), Janice Bahr (Bob) and Dietta Watson.

“Norma, I speechless.I truly thought of Jimmy as a friend. Although I didn't see Jimmy very many times, I have great remembers of our talks. Our friendship started when he would come to my window to collect his travel pay. I would tell him to say how wonderful Iowa State University is before any money would change hands. (he would be dressed in everything Iowa Hawkeye attire...head to toe) We had such a good time ribbing each other.(my daughter went to ISU) I'm heart broken. Tracey, VA cashier”
