With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deane Richard Cartwright of Grand Junction, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on May 28, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Deane may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Forrest P. Cartwright and Eleanor E. Cartwright (Young); and his wife Maria Theresa Cartwright. He is also survived by his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to the Bisbee Church of the Nazarene or a favorite charity of choice.
