He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Plathe and Ang Plathe (Herrig); his wife JoAnn "Tudy" Schuster; his siblings, Bertille (Roman Budden) and Virgil Plathe; his fathers-in-law, Joe Schuster (Helen) and Johnny Niichel; his in-laws, Brian Kuiper, Hilary, Bobbie Schuster, Orville and Norma Schuster; his nephews, Robbie Plathe and Jim Budden; and his niece Christy Robison.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Plathe (Jeri) of Granville, Tim Plathe (Mary) of Granville, IA and LeAnn Kleinhesselink (Leon) of Alton, IA; his brother Maro Plathe (Rosalie) of Granville, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Plathe of Alton, IA and Marlene Kuiper of Omaha, NE.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
