He was predeceased by: his father John Griffin; and his brother Dan. He is survived by: his mother Gayle Griffin (Gross) of Cedar Falls; his wife Peggy Marie Steere; his sons, Tyler Griffin (Bailey) of Hudson and Clint Griffin (Sophie) of Cedar Falls; his grandsons, Greyson of Hudson, Knox of Hudson and Bode Griffin of Hudson; and his sister Diane Langbehn of Marion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be directed to the Griffin family for a later designation in Dennis' name.
