He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl E. McCann and Verlene B. McCann (Sears); his wife Karon McCann; his brother Bud McCann; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Bochart, Russell Lundy and Ron Wiggins; and his grandson Casey McCann.

He is survived by: his children, Ron McCann (Chandra) of Greenfield, Steve McCann (Becky) of Panora, Deb Newton (David) of Greenfield, Denise Almobaied (Nedol) of Greenfield and Bruce McCann of Adair; his siblings, Mike McCann (Becky) of Oswego, Illinois and Holly Lundy of Missouri; and his sisters-in-law, Bette McCann of Wiota and Nancy Wiggins of Johnston. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
