He was predeceased by: his mother Gertrude Helen Sheriff (Brown); his wife Judy; his father Orlie Sheriff; his parents-in-law, Clair and Ellen Folk (Poffenberger); his brother Clifford Sheriff; and his siblings-in-law, Nadine Cottle Ashmore and George Cottle.

He is survived by: his children, Susanne Sheriff (Arvell Sherrard) of Greenfield and Jim Sheriff (Misty Fitzgerald) of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Alexis and Trenten; his brother Bruce Sheriff (Gerry); and his siblings-in-law, Eileen Sheriff of Greenfield and Don Folk of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
