He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Bodensteiner and Florence Bodensteiner (Lusson); his grandson Colin Bodensteiner; and his siblings, Virginia Schmelzer, Florine Kuennen, Arlene Brockman, Edward Bodensteiner and Jim Bodensteiner.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Kuennen; his children, Thomas Bodensteiner (Megg) of Dallas, TX, Joan Bodensteiner of San Francisco, CA, Jean Bodensteiner of Alameda, CA, Steven Bodensteiner of Ankeny, IA and Lynn Bodensteiner (Seth) of Boulder, CO; his grandchildren, Payton Bodensteiner of State Center, Trae Bodensteiner of Tama, IA, Drew Bodensteiner of Los Angeles, CA, Brady Bodensteiner of Dallas, TX and Kuennen Bodensteiner of Ankeny, IA; his brothers, John Bodensteiner (Carolyn) of Kansas City, KS and Ivan Bodensteiner of Valparaiso, IN; and his sister-in-law Roberta Bodensteiner of Cedar Falls, IA.. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell (1103 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (1002 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112).
