John E. Saxton Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John E. Saxton of Grinnell, Iowa, born in Tilden, Nebraska, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Darrell Saxton and Margaret Saxton (Vogt); his children, David of Ankeny, IA and Caroline of Chambersburg, PA; and his sister Gretchen of Larkspur, CO. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
Prior to the Covid pandemic, he was often seen attending events at Grinnell College and reading at the Drake Community Library.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to Grinnell UCC or to the Mayflower Community Human Needs Fund.
