She was predeceased by: her parents, Dick Baarda and Julia Mae De Prenger; her husband Edward John Nikkel; her siblings, Ila Mae Baarda Huyser, Joyce Baarda Huizer, Bruce Baarda and Dean Baarda; and her daughter-in-law Renee Nikkel.
She is survived by: her children, Glenda Renaud (Douglas) of Pella, Iowa, Bryce Nikkel (Linda) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ray Nikkel (Laura) of Cohasset, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Joel Renaud, Suzanne Turek, Bradley Nikkel, Jenna Fisher, David Nikkel, Jason Nikkel and Bryan Nikkel; and her sisters, Karma Baarda Burman and Karen Baarda Langstraat. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be designated to the Food Bank of Iowa.
