He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Allen and Bettyann Allen (Lafrenz); his grandparents, Norman, Mary Allen, Louis and Gertrude Lafrenz; and his cousins, Doug Burris, Lisa Holmberg, Becky Wise, Judi Crawford and Jerry Ceaser.
He is survived by: his wife Jody Allen; his daughters, Kristine Wheeler (Darren) and Sharon Burke (Dwight); his grandchildren, Kallen, Jaylene Wheeler, Gracelynn and Adalynn Burke; and his siblings, John Allen (Deb), Jill Byerly (John), Jack Allen (Patti) and Mary Lazard (Kevin).
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell (1103 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sheridan United Methodist Church (948 320th Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112).
Memorials may be made payable to the Mark Allen Memorial Fund to be used for projects at the Sheridan United Methodist Church and mailed in c/o Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
