We are sad to announce that, on February 28, 2026, at the age of 65, Mike Baker (Grinnell, Iowa), born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Bill Baker and Mary Baker of Mahtomedi, MN; his wife Barb; his children, Allison (AJ) and Trent Baker; his brother Tim Baker; his grandchildren, Graham, Ethan Bruns, Henry and Ellie; his siblings-in-law, Becky Knutson (Jim Usgaard), Beth Sharp (Gordon), Brenda Schaller, Betsy Jepsen, Brooke Carter and Bill Knutson (Mary); and his friends, Lisa York, BJ Hoffman and Bruce Kriegel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Mike requested memorials be directed to the Grinnell Football Club or the Grinnell Newburg School Foundation (GNSF) and mailed to Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
