She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Hinton and Bertha Hinton (Ross); her children, Joe McKenna of Bremerton, WA, Mike McKenna (Vicki) of Grinnell, David McKenna of Marshalltown, IA, Tammy McKanan (Dan) of Somerville, MA, Shawn McKenna (Lori) of Ankeny, IA and Barbara McKenna of Iowa City, IA; her sisters, Marjorie Hopkins, Barbara Robb, Helen Stajcar, Dorothy Gillaspie, Bonnie Kauzlarich and Darlene Cangas; her husband Jim McKenna; and her sisters, Lillian and Mary Hinton. She was also cherished by seven grandsons and three granddaughters; three great-grandsons.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (1002 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Pauline suggested memorial gifts be given to St. Mary Parish Foundation or MICA Food Pantry in care of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
