Richard Bachman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Bachman of Grinnell, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Velma Bachman and Roy Bachman; his daughter Kristen Baker (Kelly) of Iowa City; and his sisters, Donna Lawson and Sharon Breon.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Hawkinson; his daughter Kimberly Bigler (Matthew) of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Quinn, Anne Bigler, Mackenzie Mundt (Logan) and Dylan Mertens (Rachel); and his great grandchildren, Beckett Mundt and Maren Mertens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be designated to the Richard Bachman Scholarship Fund and sent to Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
