He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ritter and Helen Ritter (Frizzell); his brother Dennis; his sister-in-law Sue Ritter; and his mother-in-law Mabel Esler Madill.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Esler; his sons, Steve Ritter (Karen) and Curt Ritter (Mary); his grandchildren, Briana Goodenbour (Doug), Ashley Nordeen (Kyle), Tim Ritter (Mary) and Hugh Ritter (Lia); and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Callen, Emmett Goodenbour, Grayson, Harper, Hazel Nordeen and Raya Ritter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grinnell United Methodist Church (916 5th Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hazelwood Cemetery (120 1st Ave W, Grinnell, IA 50112).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
