He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sadler and Frankie Bennet Sadler; his wife Sheila Thomas; his sons, Steven, Jason and Scott Sadler; and his brother-in-law Jerry Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Sadler (Pam) of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Sadler (Denise) of Grinnell and Debra Sadler of Grinnell; his daughter-in-law Mary Jane Sadler; his brother Lawrence Sadler (Donna); and his grandchildren, Kyle Sadler (Sam), Kelly Davis (Jarrod), Brett Sadler, Alison Myrtue (Jacob), Jessalyn Sadler (Alex Maher), Kali Bare (Alex) and Matthew Sadler (Kamy). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to the Russell Sadler Memorial Fund and mailed in care of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.
