He is survived by : his sons, Brian Bates (Kathy) of Griswold, IA, Kevin Bates (Dacia) of Merrill, IA and Aaron Bates (Megan) of Griswold, IA; his grandchildren, Chris Bates (Jesi), Allison Bates, Sya Bates, Jordyn Toha, Makenzie Bates and Alex Bates; his great grandchildren, Isaac and Chayse; and his siblings, Kenton Bates (Pam) of Council Bluffs, IA and Beth Slagle of Crete, NE.. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
