He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Glenn Hemphill and Mary Ann Hemphill-Bailey (Railsback); his stepfather Steven Houser; and his nephew Dean Barber. He is survived by: his wife Norma; his children, Dan (Susie Hemphill), JoAnn (Tracy Heddens) and Jody (Dan Rossell); his grandchildren, Camie, Lucas Wilke, Austin, Molly Hemphill, Miles Hemphill, Carmel Hemphill, Kyle, Caitlin Heddens, Adelyn, Everett, Isaac, Ian, Kelsey, Spencer Harder, Ariah, Addy, Alex, Autumn, Kendra Doerr, Danielle, Michael Mardesen, Marlia, Walker Mundorf, Faith and Brent Radebaugh; his sister Doris Houser; and his siblings-in-law, Lola Peterson and Tim Akers. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
